What does a rewire entail?
A rewire is a process where all the old/ existing cabling in your property is removed and new cabling is installed. Each rewire has a different specification depending on what has been agreed with the Contractor and the Client. But generally speaking socket outlets get added and moved to optimal positions, light switches get moved to better locations and also light fittings too.

The existing fuseboard would also get upgraded as the existing will is likely to be out of date at this point, giving you better protecting.
Why do people get rewires?
There are a number of reasons why a Property would need a rewires, some of those reasons are:

- Cabling has failed an EICR due to degradation
- Rodents have damaged cables
- Damage from Fire, Flooding or Lightening
- Cabling that is no longer permitted for the installation

Quite often it is the case that it is peace of mind for the new Home owner that everything is safe and up to standards, if they intend to renovate the Property then its a safe bet rather than trying to work out what was previously done with the wiring.

Rewiring has become more affordable with prices of accessories and other materials decreasing. You can have different levels of a rewire depending on your expectations. On request all carpets are laid back down and chasing can be filled ready for re decoration.
The Rewire Process
1. We carry out a free survey, discussing your requirements for Switch and Socket positions. But also your requirements for bigger loads.

2. We send you a proposal outlining the new locations and number of outlets.

3. You accept the proposal

4. We carry out 1st Fix
​
5. The Walls gets re Plastered if required
​
6. The Walls then get Painted if required
​
7. We then return to carry out 2nd Fix
​
8. The Electrical system will then get Tested prior to power being restored to all the new outlets and Lighting
​
9. Once you are happy we send a handover pack with all the relevant documentation
